Opportunity Knocks – Building a resume
I recently attended the Main Line Chamber Talent and Education Network (TEN) Employer-Led Opportunity Knocks webinar. This informative session was aimed at helping students like me enhance their resume and cover letter writing skills to stand out in the job market.
The webinar, organized by the Main Line Chamber, featured a panel of distinguished professionals, including AJ DeDio from Essential Utilities, Keyur Parikh from Vanguard, specializing in technology, and Stacey Ferguson, an esteemed career coach at IBX. They offered valuable insights into what recruiters look for when reviewing application materials.
During the event, I learned strategies to tailor my resume effectively, emphasizing my key qualifications and experiences. I also gained essential tips on making my cover letter more compelling.
As an active participant, I engaged in discussions and absorbed knowledge on presenting myself as a strong candidate for internship or entry-level positions in various fields. I took the opportunity to update my resume and specify my areas of interest and preferred companies.
This event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with potential employers and fellow students, and I look forward to applying these insights to my job search.
