The Commencement Group: Sales Internship (Summer 2019)
During my time with The Commencement Group, I was able to learn much differently than if I had worked a regular internship. Through them, I traveled to different schools along the East Coast to market for the company and process digital information. I spent a weekend as far north as Brown University and as far south as a small school in southern Virginia.
I often worked long days with new groups of people and was able to improve my social skills while working. This internship also improved my ability to work in stressful situations, from waking up at 3 AM to set up for my company and meeting sometimes hard-to-reach deadlines. This internship prepared for the modern business in a way no other internship could. I feel confident I can meet any goal thrown at me by future employers.
YMCA: Counselor (Summer 2018-2019)
Prior to my time with The Commencement Group, I worked as a summer camp counselor at my local YMCA. When I wasn’t traveling on the weekends for my internship this past summer, I was working weekdays as a camp counselor. The work was hard, but rewarding, as I developed my leadership abilities by running my own group of 15 nine-year-old children.
Hassis’ Men’s Shop: Salesman (Summer 2015-2017)
While I had my summer free in high school, I worked at a high-end clothing store for men. I, a teenager at the time, was able to sell expensive items to customers who were normally much older than myself. This had an effect on me of being able to connect with people who were much older than myself and strengthened my skills to connect with people.
