Learning Genesis for WordPress

Learning Genesis for WordPress is a LinkedIn Learning video session that teaches users about the Genesis framework; what it is, how to use Genesis, and how it connects with WordPress to create a successfully operating website. In this lesson, I learned how to use the Theme Customizer to organize widgets, menus, blocks, and more on a website’s theme; as well as adding logos to the site and creating custom header and footer scripts. Alongside this lesson, I learned the different types of homepage setups: custom versus dynamic homepages; blog-style versus static homepages; and block-based homepages. I also learned how to manage SEO and AMP options with Genesis, and how to extend WordPress using plugins. I took this lesson as a student preparing for a project in UX Design, where my team and I are building a new webpage for Strength Haüs gym in South Philadelphia. Learning Genesis for WordPress is sponsored by Temple University and a professor of the UX Design course (MIS 3506), Munir Mandviwalla.
