Data Analytics at Samuel L. Paley Library
As a student worker at Temple University’s Samuel L. Paley Library, I provide support with data analytics. Data analytics is especially important within our division because it will help determine the key functionalities Temple University’s new library will offer. My work there has involved data management, normalization, and visualization. In this role, I gained first-hand knowledge of the difficulties involved in assuring data integrity by managing data sets of more than 1,000 rows. I also gained experience with Tableau, Power BI, and other data visualizations tools. Finally, I had the opportunity to attend faculty meetings where we would determine ours goals and more importantly, how data would support them.
