Working in the IOS group at Temple I learned a lot about Servers and how everything really comes together. I was the head student worker here and working here even set me up to recieve a full time job at Temple after Graduation.
Some of my Responsibilities as a member of the IOS group were
- Responsible for troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing failed computer components
Responsible for running both Ethernet and Fiber Optic cable to servers and network switches as well as troubleshooting these connections. Troubleshooting includes but is no limited to using network tools such as a Fluke - Assist with the setup and management of an Enterprise KVM solution
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the inventory of the data centers, which includes but is not limited to contacting various system owners to confirm/add/correct information for these servers in the database
- Responsible for using and maintaining a deep knowledge of coding languages such as SQL, PHP, HTML, JavaScript and Python to develop websites and databases
