Air Liquide’s facility in Newark, Delaware, is part of its global Innovation Campus network and serves as the company’s main research and development center for the U.S. and the Americas. The Newark location focuses on various fields including life sciences, materials science, process engineering, combustion, advanced fabrication, fine chemistry for electronics, and data science. This site is a key player in Air Liquide’s innovation efforts, housing over 90 employees dedicated to developing new technologies and solutions across these areas.
I coordinate with trainers to schedule, track, and update local safety training sessions to ensure compliance. I assist with internal inspections and audits to maintain safety and operational standards. Additionally, I developed Google Sheets scripts to automate email reminders for employees’ renewal dates, which helps improve compliance and reduce the need for manual tracking. Making the scripts was a great refresher for me to stay up to date and learn more about Java Script which I would directly relate to MIS 2402. I use SQL in Google Sheets to update and automate employee training completion records, enhancing data accuracy and efficiency. I would not have been able to complete this task without my knowledge from MIS 2502. I originally had no idea that you can use SQL in Google Sheets but Air Liquide has a learning portal that allowed me to educate myself on how to combine sheets formulas with SQL. I also worked with the data science team and wrote scripts for linear interpolation to track gas deliveries accurately, ensuring we always have timely information on fuel supply levels. This is another example of what I completed with my knowledge from MIS 2402. During my first week at Air Liquide, I was assigned the task of studying and learning how to use Power BI. I found this tool to be quite similar to Tableau which was used in my MIS 0855 class.
