Intern
- Content Communications Intern – Bloomberg Philanthropies
- The overall role was to support internal and executive communications. This included creating PowerPoints, graphic design, data/metrics analysis, and CRM management.
- The two major-specific projects I worked on were:
- Data/Metrics Analysis: I analyzed years of quantitative and qualitative data on initiative success metrics including drowning prevention, charter school development, and clean energy. I created monthly summarizes for executives and pinpointed reasons for delays as well as strategies to hit our targets.
- CRM Management: I validated and updated stakeholder (customers, employees, board members, people interacting with Mike Bloomberg, etc) profiles in Salesforce CRM, only placing second after the data entry intern.
- I learned a lot about how to read different data sources from a messy Excel that could use some cleaning to a well-organized heatmap or scatterplot. I also learned how to use real world events to explain changes in data and metrics as how to use existing data to derive new values. I learned about the importance of validating data and data security especially for an organization like Bloomberg Philanthropies
