Society of Women Engineers Conference and Career Fair
The Society of Women Engineers is one of the largest communities worldwide for women in various fields of STEM including EE, IE, ME, SWE, DSE, etc. This is their annual conference and career fair with tens of thousands of attendees, hundreds of companies, and various affinity groups. I attended via sponsorship from Intel Corporation offered as an employee benefit because our VP of Intel NEX group, Joannie Fu was giving the keynote. In addition to this session, I attended sessions hosted by Lockhead Martin, Motorola, Global Foundries, Microsoft, etc where I networked with my undergraduate peers in STEM as well as women engineers in the industry. Additionally, I was invited to private networking dinners and on site interviews with companies like Verizon, Walmart, Northrop Grumman, Dell Technologies, and Rockwell Automation in fields including aviaiton and defense, telecommunications networks, infrastructure storage solutions, cloud infrastructure, and e-commerce automation. I received 4 offers from this career fair and invites to interview with other companies after.
