Web Design Intern
My primary task at Group 82 was to use Squarespace, an online web design platform, to create websites for underground artists working with Group 82 Music. Group 82 is a music marketing company that offers services such as one-on-one coaching, playlist placements for songs, and a professionally-designed website which is what I was responsible of. I attended weekly intern meetings, engaged in podcasts run by Dorian, the founder and owner of Group 82. The internship was a minimum 20-25 hours per week. I began my internship on May 5th of this year and while the email screenshot says it ended on September 5th, I was handed an additional project that took me until September 18th.

Squarespace was a very user-friendly and easy platform to adjust to since I had experience with web design in the past using programs, such as Adobe Dreamweaver and Wix. I was able to go one step beyond in my projects and implement some widgets, CSS, and even explored using APIs in some of the websites by using the custom code feature in Squarespace. I learned how about all of these languages and functions in my Data-Centric Application Development class (MIS2402).
Additionally, I was able to develop my interpersonal online skills. My experience in Zoom online classes helped me communicate much more effectively with the other interns and my boss.
