Coursework

I am currently enrolled in the following courses:

Lead Global Digital Projects (MIS3535) – My project management class for my MIS cirriculum this semester.  In this class I’ve learned about Thomas Kotter’s 8 steps of change philosophy, as well as various AGILE methodologies including SCRUM.  The class is entirely oriented around one semester-long project for which we have to provide many artifacts such as a burn down chart, a product backlog, a SCRUM board, and a completed website for our client.  This class has taught me a great deal on teamwork and corporate organization tactics.

Web Service Programming (MIS3502) – This class is my technical MIS class for the semester.  We have mainly focused on developing API endpoints using JavaScript in Visual Studio Code.  Our main JavaScript work is intertwined with SQL, HTML and node.js as well.  This class has improved my coding skills ten-fold.  Within JavaScript we have created many supporting functions, event handlers for various API methods, error trapping, and appending the information to output on our web pages.

This has been my favorite MIS course so far.  I enjoy the more technical, programming side of the MIS curriculum much more than project management section.  This course has not only helped me develop my coding skills, but it has also shown me the career path I would like to take.
