2021 Fox Fall Connection
This semester has been filled with applications and networking events,. Because I plan to graduate in May 2022, the job hunt is in full-swing. I attended the Fox School of Business virtual Fall Connection on Friday, September 17th, 2021. I got to have one-on-one discussions with recruiters from Naval Supply, Earnst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG, GLG, Vanguard and SIG. I also attended an information session for NASDAQ.
My main takeaway from this career fair was that there were different categories of companies fell into. For example, NASDAQ had a very different set of goals and requirements for candidates than some of the other financial firms such as KPMG and Deloitte. Additionally, companies that were more technology-focused such as SIG had very different priorities, both in their business and hiring processes, from a lot of the general consulting and financial corporations. Overall, I learned that with my personality traits and love for technology, I would be best-suited and for a technology firm.
I was able to have some wonderful conversations and reached out to my recruiters after our discussions. This career fair may very well lead me to some excellent opportunities and an expanded professional network.
