Singer/Songwriter

I always dabbled in piano and guitar but starting in 2010 I began honing these efforts into my own personal compositions. Singing is more than just a hobby for me; it is an outlet with which I can express myself both creatively and artistically. I’ve attached links to my most recent videos.

I really enjoy participating in this student organization as it is one of the most active organizations on campus and provides me with a unique networking and learning experience, tailored specifically to MIS students. I’ve met some great people through this organization and have learned quite a bit from industry leaders who come to present to us at weekly meetings. Being a part of this organization is integral to the MIS student at Temple University.

Low Key: The Show Choir Experience

While starting to write my own music, I also started to get involved in the collegiate A Cappella scene. I started rehearsing and performing with Low Key: The Show Choir Experience in Fall 2012. Our group not only puts together a solid repertoire of songs such as “Cosmic Love” by Florence & The Machine and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses but it also assembles a great group of individuals that have become really important to me. We host many concerts and shows throughout the semester and also have “mandatory” bonding activities to ensure good group dynamics and chemistry.

Songbird: The Search for Philly’s Best Singer

This is a local contest beginning September 17th, 2013, that features 16 very talented musicians/singers, in which week after week one is eliminated until there is a single winner. I am really looking forward to being a part of this and will update the results as soon as I can.

(Update: Thirteen grueling weeks later, I placed third of sixteen contestants on the last night of the show, where the top 3 finalists battled it out for the title. Below, the three of us are pictured eagerly awaiting the results!).

 Yelp! Elite Foodie

When I came to Philadelphia in 2008, I had a very limited palate and was a very picky eater. When I discovered Yelp!, that changed. Earning badges by checking-in and contributing actively in reviewing local restaurants and venues, I found my way into an expanded palate via this popular crowdsourcing website. After enough contributions, I earned an Elite Badge which allows me to attend unique events such as food tastings at opening restaurants or rehearsal showings of local plays. It is a great community and really helps complement the foodie in me. I am constantly trying new foods and cuisines and take pride on being a good knowledge base of food in the Philadelphia area.

My favorites include Surabaya (Indonesian), Circles (Thai), New Delhi (Indian), and Memphis Tavern (Gastropub). There are many great places to eat here in Philadelphia!
