“Strategic Negotiation” by Mike Figliuolo
In “Strategic Negotiation” by Mike Figliuolo, I learned about negotiating tactics when it comes to business. This lesson taught me about different ways to negotiate, as well as the structure of a negotiation. Mike breaks down how important it is to define your goals, sequence a deal, structure a deal, and anchor a deal. In the second to last section, he also discusses when and how to change your negotiation style during a negotiation, based on the other individual’s needs. Finally, he lays out how to not kill relationships during a negotiation, so that you can continue to do business with the other party.
I found this lesson related to my interest, because while it is not MIS, negotiation is a necessary skill to have when you have your own business, and my ultimate goal is to have my own business. Since this is my last LinkedIn Learning, and I graduate tomorrow, I figured this would be a timely topic. All in all, I found this lesson to be worthwhile.
