Data Analytics
In this class, I learned how to use SQL and R to efficiently organize and analyze data. I really enjoyed analyzing data in meaningful ways, and this class opened my eyes to how much value there is in data. This class made me realize that I wanted to pursue a career in technology.
Data-Centric Application Development
In this class, I learned how to utilize HTML, CSS, and Javascript to build applications and web pages. I took 2 years of Javascript in high school to make general purpose applications, but I enjoyed learning about how powerful these three languages are together.
Enterprise IT Architecture
In this class, I learned about various and relevant information technologies used in business. Since technology changes rapidly, this class had a focus on learning about how to learn about technology. We utilized Microsoft Azure to build our own network. We also learned how to efficiently research a topic, build a business case for change, and write it in a one page paper. This class showed me how important it is to be able to research and learn about a topic on your own.
Digital Solutions Studio
In this class, I learned how to be a business analyst. We worked with a real client (ARI) to analyze their needs, come up with a solution, and build a prototype. We utilized Justinmind and other technologies to collect requirements and build our prototype. We presented our solution and prototype to ARI, and my team’s project came in third place.
Application Integration and Evaluation
In this class, I learned how to develop a website using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PHP. I also learned how to integrate the website with a database by utilizing SQL queries. This class had a focus on how to integrate code with a database.
Lead Global Digital Projects
In this class, I learned about how to be a project manager. This class works with the business analysts from the Digital Solutions Studio class, but instead we focus on project management responsibilities. We were responsible for project plans, budgeting, RACI charts, stakeholder lists, and much more. This class prepared me very well for my current role.
Information Integration
I am currently taking this class. So far, we have covered cryptography and threat modeling. We have also created a Kali-Linux machine in the Google Cloud. I am very interested in cyber-security, and I am eager to see what we will learn next.
