Development Intern

My summer internship at CHOP has translated into a fall/winter internship that I am still currently working at. The Development team at CHOP is housed within the CHOP Foundation department. The offices for the Foundation are in the Wanamaker building in center city. My main function is to assist the Annual Giving team, however I have been working closely with IS, Digital and Direct Marketing, and Campaign Operations. Tasks I complete include: analyzing large data sets of donors and donor patterns to assist in the curation of target groups, managing database queries within the system The Raisor’s Edge, and create visualization aids to depict giving patterns. One project I worked on was the creation of personalized micro-sites for our high profile donors. I utilized the platform Ovrture to translate campaign stories to this web format and designed interactive content panels to be sent to the high profile donors as a stewardship effort. Another project I worked on was the creation and implementation of a digital mail achieving system. This internship has related a lot to specific things I’ve learn at Temple as an MIS major. The material that I learned in Data Analytics has had a direct translation to real-world job application. Writing search queries for database management systems, utilizing ETL techniques, and techniques to visualize data all have been very important in my internship.
