Work Experience

Office Support Personnel: November 2014 – May 2018

My main student job at Temple University was in the office of the Vice President of IT Services. This opportunity allowed me to support myself as a full-time student and to understand how a business department is managed. I handled administrative duties and coordinated office & technical support so that daily operations run smoothly. I worked 20 hours a week between classes, which encouraged me to practice good time management. Overall, I believe that working here expanded my knowledge of how the business world operates and I know that my experience will aid me in the future.

Test Administrator: September 2015 – April 2016

I have had the excellent opportunity to work as the test proctor for the Fox CLT (Computer Literacy Test). This program tested the working knowledge that each student had about basic computer applications and deemed if they were able to move on to courses like MIS 2101, where those skills and knowledge requirements are necessary. Taking this job was challenging because it required not only a thorough knowledge of technology but also the skills to fairly manage the students whom took the test. It was my job to arrange the time and location of each test, respond to email inquiries, guide each student through the prep stages, solve technical issues, and upload each grade in a timely manner. Working as a proctor has given me the ability to work autonomously and also the management skills to handle time-spanning projects.

Account Management Intern: May 2016 – May 2018

Summer 2016: I was offered the amazing opportunity to intern with Pfizer, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, which I gladly accepted. I was placed in the Business Technology sector, working as a Account Management Associate intern. My role consisted of assisting my Pfizer colleagues, learning about the company & its many programs, getting involved in the Summer Student Worker program and working on three main projects: Project Magellan, AM Value Realization & SP2007 DMZ Decommission. This experience was so successful for myself and for my Pfizer colleagues that I was offered to extend my internship part-time into the 2016-2017 school year!

Summer 2017: I excitedly continued my internship with Pfizer into another summer. This time around, I worked on the application GDMS (Global Document Management System) that houses all product information documentation.  For GDMS, I assisted the team in correcting system issues that were discovered in a 2014 audit, recorded the progress of ten CAPAs (Corrective and Preventative Actions) that were raised to address the audit findings, and practiced project management by scheduling meetings, communicating with team members about his or her progress, ensuring that necessary changes are made, and more. I also contributed to the SSW (Summer Student Worker) Program by volunteering for two teams: the “SSW Showroom” Planning Team and the Yammer Planning Team. I took up the task of leading the “SSW Showroom” Planning Team by running meeting agendas, delegating necessary tasks, presenting to Pfizer colleagues and reporting progress back to our Pfizer colleague team lead. I assisted the Yammer Planning Team by maintaining an active presence on the “Internal SSW” Yammer page and fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity, learning, and fun. This experience was so successful for myself and for my Pfizer colleagues that I was offered to extend my internship part-time into the 2017-2018 school year.

Fox Peer Teacher: January 2018 – May 2018

For the last semester of my senior year, I was very honored to be chosen as a peer teacher for MIS 3506: Digital Design and Innovation Studio. I assisted the professor by attending classes, helping the students during class exercises, and even giving a lecture or two. I held regularly-scheduled office hours that students attended when they needed additional help or wanted more guidance. I regularly corresponded with students via email to troubleshoot Justinmind issues and answered any questions about tests, project assignments, etc. This role showed me how valuable the profession of teaching is. I’m very grateful to have had this experience right before graduating in May 2018.
