Engineering & Operations Student Worker
I am a student worker with Temple University’s Information Technology Services on the Engineering & Operations team. During the first four months of the job, I have been a part of the expediting, inventorying, and recycling of 220 servers across two university data centers, as well as corresponding with faculty regarding decommissioning projects for 350 Windows 2012 R2 and 430 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 servers. Other responsibilities have included ticketing system management and supporting ITS leadership as needed. This opportunity has given me hands-on exposure to on-premise and hybrid technologies; knowledge that complements the infrastructure concepts I’ve learned in MIS 3406, Cloud Architecture, specifically as they relate to network and security.
