Marketing/Communications Intern
Throughout my time at Heroic Gardens, they assigned me projects that aligned with my goals and interests. One of my projects was getting the company started with Oracle NetSuite. Having just been given access to the system, they were not sure how to use it or what to use it for. I explored and researched its different capabilities and offered ideas to the company about how to utilize the program. I even got them started by entering data into the system so that they could use it for accounting purposes. Another project had me using WordPress to start designing a new website for a program that they recently began called Mission: Windowsill. This program did not yet have a website, so I used WordPress to start the overall layout. I implemented what I learned about coding forms using HTML to make a contact form on this website. I also integrated the form with their NetSuite account so that new contacts would automatically be added. Through this internship, I was able to apply a lot of knowledge I gained through my MIS coursework thus far.
