Work Experience
For the past two summers, I have worked as an intern at Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I worked in the Accounting department under accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, business analyst, and billing.
At Draper Laboratory I was able to create financial records for Payroll and Billing, and use an online database for virtual records. Within the accounting department, I inputted Journal Entries in the General Ledger, paid invoices in Accounts Payable, created billing invoices in Billing using Oracle Software. Additionally, I validated data for the business analyst payroll validation, tested billing invoices for variances and assisted in creating training modules. This internship has increase my skills by not only showing me how to work in a professional business setting, but also how to prepare me for the real world.
Previously, I have worked as a summer camp counselor, a softball umpire, and I have held many volunteering opportunities, such as my role as a mentor in the Fox Mentorship Program, Big Brothers, Big Sisters Independence Region and in Newton’s “One-to-One” Program.
I have a lot of experience in the accounting field, but this summer I am hoping to work in the IT field.
