AIS Mentorship Program
Fall 2020 – Mentee
Fall 2020 was my first semester as a member of AIS (Association for Information Systems). As a newly declared Management Information Systems major, I took advantage of the opportunity to participate in the mentorship program so I could meet like-minded students and learn more about the major. Through this program, I was paired with an amazing mentor, Kyra Lloyd. Kyra, like myself, is a Management Information Systems and Marketing double major, which made the experience even better! Throughout the program, Kyra helped me establish academic and professional goals, enhance my resume, apply for internships, and plan my courses for the spring semester. She also encouraged me to attend AIS social events and gave me guidance about different Fox majors and tips for navigating my summer internship search. The mentorship program has helped reinforce my interest in the MIS program and learn crucial professional development strategies. I am so glad I was able to work with Kyra this semester and I cannot wait to participate in this program again in the spring!
Spring 2021 – Mentor
Spring 2021 semester I was so happy to continue with the mentorship program and be paired up with Kyra again. In the beginning, we created some goals for the semester and she encouraged me to apply for the AIS Scholarship. This helped get me off on the right foot and get back into the school mindset after a long winter break! Throughout the semester, we worked together to plan my schedule for next fall, practice tough interview questions, network with other mentor/mentee pairs, and attend different AIS social events. Thanks to Kyra’s help, this has been an exciting and productive semester where I was able to make lots of progress towards my goals. I am so grateful to have been part of the mentorship program this year. Not only has it helped me grow both personally and professionally, but it also gave me the opportunity to get closer with my amazing mentor, Kyra!
