About Me

My name is Maggie Luong (she/her) and I’m a Sophomore Management Information Systems (MIS) major at the Fox School of Business. After spending the last two years exploring different areas of business, I chose to pursue MIS to merge my interests in the fields of business, consulting, and technology.

As a student in the Business Honors Program, I am intentional, hard-working, and creative. I have a passion for connecting with people and using technology to make a positive impact. Currently, I am seeking opportunities for Summer 2021 that will enable me to explore my passions, build my skill set, and enable me to become a part of the first-generation of college graduates in my family. 

Background

I was born in San Francisco, CA and raised in Stratford, Connecticut. As a graduate of the Center for Global Studies at Brien McMahon High School and an IB diploma recipient, I was involved with China Club, CGS Ambassadors, and the Student Government. My experiences from coast to coast have helped shape my life experiences thus far. 

Current Ventures

For the Spring 2021 semester, I am with Amtrak as the Safety Communications Intern. I am utilizing my skills in research and data analysis to launch nationwide campaigns about railroad safety. 

When I am on-campus, I am working with Temple’s Consulting Club where I am supporting the Mexican Cultural Center in creating a heat map. I am also designing and publishing monthly newsletters for the Women in Finance organization. Alongside of this, I am a member of the Wharton Alliance’s Operations Committee, where I am organizing workshops and directing photoshoots. 

In my free time, I am practicing portrait photography, CrossFit, cycling, or trying to perfect my family’s Chinese-Vietnamese cuisines.
