The AIS experience

Joining AIS has been a defining moment of my MIS studies. Through various speaker series meetings, I’ve been able to hear from a wide variety of industry executives ranging from Cyber Security to Scholastic organizations. AIS technical development workshops have given me the opportunity to hone my computer skills with programs and coding languages that I won’t have a chance to experiment with in my class studies, such as Java and Tableau. These various opportunities are vital to hopeful MIS majors, as they provide you with experience that you would not get in your classes and would otherwise be difficult to pick up by yourself. The head start these events provide have allowed me to become a more well rounded student and prospective MIS professional. Being able to talk and interact with professionals and executives within the industry also provides valuable networking opportunities that have allowed me to get my name out there and learn exactly what it is prospective employers are looking for in a future employee. Joining AIS is a necessity for any MIS major looking to stand out from the crowd and improve their skills in a comfortable professional environment.
