The Fox IT Awards
During the spring semester of a given year, all MIS events culminate in the IT award show. Students and Faculty alike are honored for their achievements in the field and recognized for contributions to the MIS program and the professional world. The award show is an amazing opportunity for students to network and connect with the entire MIS program here at Temple. Personally, attending the event has taught me how to network in an environment full of professionals and prospective employers. By connecting with other students, I was also able to build learning networks with my peers that have greatly assisted me in my studies here at Temple. Being able to team up with peers and share experience is a vital skill as a young professional working toward employment, and the IT award show provides a low pressure environment where I can master these skills to apply at any number of networking events further in my career and in my future employment. All MIS majors should take the opportunity to attend this award show, because by not attending you are depriving yourself of valuable face time with MIS professionals and your peers. Networking is a vital aspect of any successful career, and the IT award show is the best opportunity outside of a career fair for students to get themselves out there in the industry.
