  3. The main project I worked on with my supervisor was launching NBCU’s new in-house promo optimization platform, POP, with all of NBCU’s brands (MSNBC, Universal Kids, Telemundo, etc). This project allowed me to develop valuable communication skills as I was constantly working with POP’s users from different brands. Most of our POP users had minimal technical background, so conducting demos and assisting in teaching them the POP platform gave me more experience explaining technical concepts to people without the initial technical background. I was able to assist in acting as a ‘middle-man’ between POP’s development team and POP’s users. Overall, being able to understand the perspectives of both the POP development team and the POP users with minimal technical skills directly relate to my major. Along with this I worked on documentation for my supervisor. I gathered information and notes from the POP trainings we had with the users of each brand. With this information I wrote multiple articles explaining different POP concepts to assist our users in getting a better understanding of the platform. This allowed me to attain valuable technical writing skills that I gathered from a real-world experience. Along with this, during my internship I was able to work with other interns to design and create a new Media Tech page on NBCU’s career site. I felt very prepared going into this project based on what I learned in my Digital Solutions Studio (MIS3506) class. In that class we had to design and build a new website for LawAtlas with a group of our peers. I took on our NBC website project the same way as our project in class when it came to organizing our time, planning meetings, utilizing prototype building platforms, and more. I was also able to utilize some of the JavaScript skills I built upon in my Enterprise IT Architecture (MIS3406) and Data Centric Application Development (MIS2402) class when it came to building our website.
