Descriptive analytics tells what happened in your business in the past week, month or year, presenting it as numbers and visuals in reports and dashboards. Predictive analytics determine the potential outcomes of present and past actions and trends. Data is managed based on a centralized data architecture, while big data is managed using a distributed architecture. Companies use big data in their systems to improve operations, provide better customer service, create personalized marketing campaigns and take other actions that, ultimately, can increase revenue and profits. Business intelligence gives organizations the ability to ask questions in plain language and get answers they can understand.

(6a) If Statements
Hello class,
One of the most important thing in learning JavaScript is to learn If statements. There three types of If statements;
- If statement.
- If else statement.
- If else If statement.
We have to know that If statement will execute whether the condition is true or false except in the first situation when “If” is used without “else” then the program will evaluate the content only if the expression is true. On the other hand, “If else” statement checks if the first condition is true it executes that code. If the condition is false, the second code is executed. “Else if” statement after “If” statement will evaluate a second condition if the fist condition is false. Sometimes, it is confusing but fun to learn.
3a Question
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a process used to manage companies and connect important parts of a business such as sales, inventory, and marketing together through one collective software. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is a technology for managing all your company’s relationships and interactions with customers and potential customers. ERPs and CRMs are both important for a company to have. ERPs focus more on helping the company run a successful business and connecting their finances and operations to one database, while CRMs focus on storing and managing the interactions and information with customers within a company. An ERP will tell an employee what they need to do while a CRM will give them the information to do it. They go hand in hand. Without one of them there are bound to be many issues like overlapping customers, not remembering information about the customers which in turn leads to less efficiency and a loss in sales.

The coding language that adds structure to a web page is HTML or the Hypertext Markup Language. The elements of HTML tell the browser how to display content. Just about everything you want to create for a web page can be done with specific HTML-related code. This includes creating links, adding structured sections with headers, incorporating tags, adding links, and so on.
The coding language responsible for adding functionality to a web page is JavaScript. Javascript enhances and adds content to a web page. You can make a web page more interactive, It is one of the top listed programming languages, right next to python.
Finally, the coding language that adds design elements to a web page is CSS. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. This programming allows developers to describe how a website is laid out and presented. You can add colors, fonts, backgrounds and so much more. It’s important to note that CSS is not considered a programming language, but instead just a tech skill.
Discussion 7a Part 2 HTML, CSS, JavaScript example
Hello everyone,
This is part two, in my last post I gave a brief background as to what HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are as well as why we use them. Today I will talk about them a little more based on my personal experience using them. Just a little reminder HTML stands for Hypertext markup language and is the structure of a website. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets, and this is what you use to make your website look pretty. Finally, JavaScript which is what we use to make the website functional. Today in class we had the opportunity to use CSS in our in-class assignment. One thing you should remember when changing the style of your output is that you must create a new text within your code that represents the style of your work. At the very top of your screen when the document begins you will see the usual information <doctype>, <html>, and <body>. In this area between html and body you want to create a new line that says <style> this is where you would input your code to do things like change the color or fount size. First you want to label what you want to change after style followed by the curly brackets next you can choose color followed by colon and your color followed by semicolon. Below I will give you an example of how that should look. The green text is what you will add to change the style of your prompt/output.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<style>p{color:blueviolet; font: size 30px; } h1{color: rgb(247, 6, 166)};
body{background-color: rgb(43, 191, 228)};</style>
<body>
After you save and run the program you will be able to see the changes that were made in your code.
Javascript: An Event-driven Program 7A
Javascript was created to be event-driven because it relies on the actions (events) of users to carry out specific codes. Javascript is used to create forms, respond to clicks, and submit data to programs. Each of these events require a response. This can be best explained through the lens of a website like Amazon. Amazon is a very interactive website which uses many functions. In order to search items, users must click the search button. This is an event that requires a response. All of the data under that search will be pulled up and made accessible to the user. Also, in order to purchase an item, users must put items into their cart, enter their name, address and credit card info, and choose a chipping method. These actions are all events that codes must respond to. These codes are very complex because they must have the proper reaction to each user event.
2b Question
Digital identity is one’s personal digital presence. My personal digital identity consists of social media(accounts like twitter, facebook, and tiktok), Linkedin, and online accounts on shopping web browsers. There are many ways our online presence can be tracked. It is something employers also look at so it is important to be mindful of what we are posting and engaging in. The MIS community platform is where students are able to network and collaborate with shared professional interests. Students can share ideas and information with each other on their shared interests and even gain more knowledge on said interest or in their profession. An E-Portfolio is able to provide evidence of professional or educational achievements in order to showcase one’s abilities. It also can be used as employment documentation like a resume during job searches.
The Relationship Between HTML, CSS and Javascript 7A
HTML adds structure, CSS adds design and Javascript adds the interactivity to your code. Without Javascript, HTML and CSS are not functional. HTML displays the code and makes it organized. Javascript is responsible for allowing users to click on a button and get a response out of a system. CSS makes the whole system look better. You can change the font, font size, and font color of a code that you create. This is important because while you want your code to work, you also want it to have a nice appearance so users are drawn to it. If every website was just a white page with text boxes, they would lack individuality and creativity. In class, we did an exercise where we took an existing code and added CSS features. Because the code was a game, CSS made it look more fun so it’s more appealing to the audience.
6b- Loops
In coding, you will often see loops. Loops are used basically as a shortcut. It shortens what could be numerous lines of code into just a couple and allows for code to be written once and run as many times as needed. It executes tasks much quicker, saving lots of time. If we want the code to run a specific number of times we use the “for” loop. An example is as follows:
const loopTime = 5;
for (let i = 0; i < loopTime; i++) {
console.log(`Iteration is #${i}`);
}
If we want to run code but do not know the specific number of times we use a “while” loop. This will repeat a certain block of code an unknown amount of times until the condition is met. An example is as follows:
while (i < 10) {
text += “The number is “ + i;
i++;
}
Furthermore, you can also use the “Do While” loop. This variant will execute the code as long as the condition is true, and will repeat if the condition continues to be true. An example is as follows:
do {
// code block to be executed
}
while (condition);
Loops 6B
A loop is a sequence of instructions that are repeated until a certain condition is met. In contrast to variable which help you NOT to repeat code, loops help you TO repeat code. There are three types of loops (for loops, while loops and do-while loops). For loops show the initial action, loop condition, and action performed for each iteration. While and do-while loops run a program until it is false. A for, while and do-while loop example is shown below.
for ( let x=1; x < 5, x++) {
alert(x)
}
This code will test the code until the condition is true. While loops test the code until the condition is false.
let count=0
while (x<10) {
Alert (“Code is true”) ;
count++
}
This code will run until condition is false. Do- while loops will execute a code while it is true, until it is false.
let count=0
do{
alert(“Code is true);
count++;
} while(count<10)
When count reaches 10, the code will be false and stop executing.
