Work Experience
2010-2012. Most recently, while I was attending college I worked at Home Depot, in Pennsylvania. I was in charge of customer service in the flooring department, but cross-trained in other departments as well. I was the responsible for interacting and assisting all the Spanish Speaking customers that came into the store. I was the only fully bi-lingual employee at that particular location. Having lived in Mexico for 5 years, I was conversational, as well as capable to take orders, regarding the Home Depot products. As well I was employee of Month at that the Pennsylvania location.
2007-2009. Prior to starting College, since high school, I worked at McDonald’s corporation. I started out like any high school kid, doing all different crew position jobs. As I had a good grasp of customer service, I was asked to join the Management team. I attended McDonald’s, Management Development Program and attended classes at the regional Head Quarters, in Schaumburg, Illinois. I was promoted to Assistant Store Manger, and was responsible for such tasks as scheduling, ordering products, equipment maintenance, and customer service. I was also responsible for daily, weekly and monthly paperwork and cash management. My bilingual skills were important as many employees spoke only Spanish. As well I did volunteer work in community service, hiring and training young people with physical handicaps.
2007-2009. At the same time that I was working a full time management job, I worked part time as a Sales Associate at Sear’s Outlet Center, for appliances. I assisted customers in selection appliances with features and warranty plans to meet their needs at the best value. I also promoted the Sears Brand by enrolling customer in credit and financing programs, thus helping them to finance major purchases and ensuring Brand Loyalty in the future. As in all my positions I was the key person in charge of Spanish Speaking Customers, as well as aided in supervision of Spanish speaking employees.
