Developing a Critical Thinking Mindset

I completed the LinkedIn Learning course, “Creating a Critical Mindset.” The most impactful thing I learned was the RRV framework (Relevance, Reliability, and Validity), which gives me a structured way to actually test the information I encounter. I realized it’s easy to mistake evidence that’s reliable for evidence that’s truly valid. I also picked up techniques like quantum thinking, the ability to handle opposing ideas simultaneously, to avoid lazy, binary thinking. This is crucial for my MIS coursework because I can now challenge the assumptions and data I collect during systems analysis. Professionally, this skill means I can analyze client problems based on verifiable facts and sound logic, ensuring my recommendations are objective and not compromised by my own or a manager’s authority bias.
