– Helped plan and coordinate an event for N3rd St with over 30 different tech sponsors in partnership with Jarvus and CandiDate. Over 500 people attended throughout the day and the event kicked off Bamboo Wifi’s free Wifi launch for the whole street.
– Helped to plan future web solutions for when the company grows and needs to scale. Created multiple proposals for them to have on file for when they move beyond Google Docs. Included specifications on job and matchmaking database. Researched options for them to build off of premade WordPress plugins, as well as going completely custom.
– Learned about the needs of tech firms and the most sought after technical experience. Through helping them recruit I gained a broad overview of a huge number of jobs in the tech space and terminology including:
- Difference between languages and frameworks
- Why developers prefer some over others
- What the standard platforms are versus the up-and-comers
- An introduction to algorithms
- Coding libraries like jquery
- Learned what many different jobs require and what the interview process is for many local tech companies
