Queenie’s Pets Project
I worked on a team with another MIS student named Jason Mays and one of my MIS professors named Taha Havakhor. Professor Havakhor was our advisor for the project. Our main goal for the project was to create a website with e-commerce capabilities for Queenie’s Pets, which is a pet store in Philadelphia. The URL for the website is https://store.queeniespets.com/ (notice: the owners of the website have made changes to the website since we finished it). This was the first project I worked on with IBIT and was the first time I had ever helped build a complete website and worked with a client so I learned a lot of new skills. While doing this project I learned a lot about designing a website, how to use website builders, what goes into providing e-commerce capabilities, and how to add additional plugins/widgets to a website. We built the website using Shopify, so I learned a lot about Shopify and how to use it. Since this was my first experience working with a client, I gained valuable experience in learning how to communicate with a client and how to build a relationship with them.
