Writing Samples
This writing sample is a cover letter I wrote last in my fall semester of 2014 for my business communications course. The internship the cover letter was written for was with Comcast’s Finance Internship Program. The cover letter highlights my ability to work in teams, time management, and my communication skills.
These writing samples are called “flash research assignments” and were written for my Enterprise IT Architecture course, one of the first major courses for MIS. Flash research assignments are writing pieces that are constructed within a time frame of roughly 90 minutes and are designed to convince the CIO of a firm to implement a new piece of technology. As an employee of the firm you must construct a concise and convincing paper to sway the CIO to invest in this technology for the company. These pieces consist of three the first being a hook, the second being the description of the technology, and the third being the business case.
This flash research assignment’s technology concerned virtualization and cloud computing. I have also provided the directions for the assignment to give more distinct background.
