AIS External Event 1

I am an active member of AIS  and so far I have been attending all the Professional Development Tracks as well as the Speaker Series.

The external event for the PD Event was one of my favourites thus far. Adam Padres spoke about how he left his program in school to start his company NeuroFlow. I found his takeaways to be very realistic, simple but really effective. One that stood out to me the most was choosing and recognizing what makes you feel fulfilled. Additionally, taking your time. Climbing the corporate ladder is great and everything but there is no rush to do it. Society pushes us and makes us feel like we should have accomplished things by a certain age, but there is no need to rush.

He also spoke about the challenges he faced in starting his own company and some examples within his company of how he has impacted others’ lives.

I think advice like this could be taken by any student, no matter your major or goals. Encouragement to do what makes you feel fulfilled and that there is no rush in climbing the corporate ladder.
