Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Rana Ismaeil. I am from North Wales, Pennsylvania. Currently, I am a senior Management Information Systems major at Temple University Fox School of Business. I also have a minor in Global Studies. My interests include travelling, spending time with friends and family, and spending time outdoors. I selected MIS as my major because I wanted to study something that challenges me academically, providing me with technical skills needed in the field of Information Systems. I utilized the information learned in my minor, from my study abroad experience, and my internship experience in Rome this past summer to build my soft skills, which are crucial for any future career.
I am quite involved on campus, as an active member of the Association of Information Systems, an Information Technology Assistant for a section of the Data Analytics course in Fall 2019, and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society. In the past, I have been involved in the International Business Association and I had a position as a Diversity Peer at the Temple Institutional Diversity Office.
I gained many skills from these experiences. For example, in my position as an Information Technology Assistant, I help students with problems they face in their assignments and help them understand concepts more clearly. I utilized my strong communication skills to help articulate the denser topics to students. My time-management skills have also aided me with this position, since I must balance it with my part-time job at Target and a full-time course load of schoolwork. I utilize organization and scheduling my time beforehand as methods to stay in control of my limited time.
My career goal for the next few years is to find a position that allows me to learn, both through experiences and post-graduate education. I plan on remaining at one company for a few years. I want a job that supports me to pursue certificates while I work. I also plan on cross-training in a large company, so that I could explore different departments and find my strengths.
