Apple, Procurement Analyst Intern, August 2023 – January 2024

This semester I am working at Apple in Cupertino, CA on the Business Solutions team in the Sourcing and Supply Chain division. I am a PM on the team responsible for interfacing with Global Supply Managers and engineering teams on building sourcing optimization platforms. These support the migration from more manual email exchanges for RFQs, quote histories, and BOMs to an all-in-one data-centric platform.

Within the Global Sourcing and Supply Management Department at Apple lies Solutions. The team plays a pivotal role in our organization, spearheading the design and implementation of cutting-edge systems and tools. With a focus on technology, system design, and data governance, the team excels in addressing key business challenges and opportunities, streamlining business processes for enhanced efficiency. The Data and Analytics team analyzes data to uncover hidden patterns and develop machine learning models to create faster and deeper insights. The solutions team ensures that we have the necessary data, processes, and tools in place to manage and mitigate risks in Apple’s supply chain. Their efforts drive future strategies focused on Supply Chain Resiliency while upholding the highest standards of data accuracy in our supply chain data systems

I worked on a new RFQ tool GSMs are onboarding into. I have assisted in the onboarding of five commodity groups that are currently using the tool for all future RFQs since their onboarding. I presented demos of how to use the tool to GSM groups, collected feedback for future enhancements, and worked with various teams during the onboarding stages. There were hurdles to overcome like rolling up my sleeves on troubleshooting for commodity onboarding. But through each time I onboarded a team, key learning from past teams made it easier.

Overall, I have seen the behind-the-scenes process of building out tools. Understanding the process and workflow of both was key to reaching the end goal of sustaining tool use by GSM teams. I have learned this doesn’t come automatically. A key buy-in and showing the long-term vision of how Ninja Cost and NPI will streamline processes is necessary. Overall the Solutions PM role is always changing- the ask and requirements evolve and I look forward to continuing on with my projects over the next few weeks. Thank you.

BDP International, Logistics Intern, January 2021 – April 2021

As a logistics intern, I am working on import compliance standards for BASF, the largest chemical company in the world. I receive and initiate the compliance process of over 100 reports per day and review shipment status reporting to ensure passage of US custom requirements. I also coordinate data entry and performed RFI/RFQ when required for BASF clients. During my time with BDP, I have learned the intricacies of Supply Chain Operations and what it means to be a 4PL firm.

Self-employed, Etsy, June 2020 – Present

I am the owner and founder of an online retail shop on Etsy which specializes in handmade products such as planters and earrings. I created this virtual venue to showcase my woodworking skills developed as a COVID project where I reengineered my house closets. On Etsy, I created a storefront and products, maintain inventory, manage marketing and advertising. I also provided a platform for client relations, personal finance keeping, and negotiation techniques.

Dell Boomi, Project Intern, June 2019 – August 2020

My first internship was will Dell Boomi from the Summer of 2019 to August 2020. I along with three other colleagues were tasked to develop a high school mentorship program to be implemented in all 27 global offices of the company. I lead and assist in development in the acquisition of training tools, project spending, material acquisition, and program development research in order to accomplish our given goals. Once initializing such information we were able to assemble a cohesive business plan to present in front of the company CEO and Chief of Staff.

My time at Boomi has allowed me to directly interact with various information systems in order to obtain data to be used for formal purposes. I learned how communication between departments is vital to company-wide success in the project development arena. Taking control of an independent project also allowed me to prospectively see other areas of the business such as Boomi’s initiative to hire veterans and teach them their API software. Our project ensured the collaboration of such initiatives as we hired veterans to develop coding games as part of the mentorship program. In the end, I oversaw the execution of developed program activities globally including an initial success in Bangalore, India

Bridal Attendant/ Banquet Server, Downingtown Country Club, August 2019 – July 2020

I provided customer service for a 300 seat banquet hall specializing in direct lines of service and assistance in wedding activities. I started as a server and was quickly promoted to a bridal attendant within 2 months. I also coordinated wedding decorations, bridal suite appearance, and provided new employee training.
