In WordPress Essential Training, I learned how to use WordPress well enough to design a website! The course started with the very basics, such as creating a new page. From there, I learned about adding blocks versus choosing a theme, basic layout and formatting, and replacing images and text. Towards the end of the course, I learned about the importance of updates on WordPress as well as adding widgets.
This activity relates to my coursework and career goals because it has to do with user experience and web design. I am currently taking UXD, and while we are using Figma right now, I still think WordPress is important to learn. In the future, I could also see myself being a web designer – I have already helped two companies develop their sites!
