Education

I graduated from University High School of the Humanities in June of 2014. I really enjoyed my high school experience as I made many friends and met teachers that I will keep in contact with. I graduated at the top 15% of my class as part of National Honor’s Society, and was a participant of various extracurricular activities. The highlight of my high school career was NJIT’s Upward Bound Pre-College Program which I attended from grade 8-12. As a part of that program, I took college courses every Saturday in the fall and spring, and for the summer we would have an actual college experience by staying on NJIT’s campus for six weeks. There, I graduated the Most Outstanding Senior of the program, but that wasn’t all I was juggling. I was also part of an elite cheerleading team, a Sisterhood Organization, tutoring peers in mathematics, and many other clubs/organizations. Being so optimistic, and efficiently multitasking has definitely helped me today in college, and now I am a social butterfly.

I am now attending Temple University, and it is a optimal change from my high school, which college is in general! However, my high school consisted of a class of a pocket-sized 98 students, with the whole student maybe only consisting of about three hundred students. Now, I go to Temple and there are over thirty thousand students that attend, and that had to be the biggest transition for me. Nonetheless, when you begin to get into your major, you start realizing that it’s one big school, broken up into a bunch of different small schools, and individuals such as your peers, professors, and advisers, all want to help you succeed. I’m really glad I chose Temple, and can’t wait to see all that it has in store for me.
