How the Numbers Add Up

This is primarily for students, but everyone is welcomed to give it a try and leave comments.

It’s pretty easy to do 11 x 1 through to 10 without putting a lot of thought to it, but how can we calculate 11 x 11, or 11 x 12, or 11 x 13 and so on. I came up with an easy way to do it without a calculator. [I have seen many online suggestions, but nothing exactly like this, so give it a try]

11 x 11

11 x 97

11 x 534

Cool! Right?

Ok, here is the last one.

Investments and Savings Files

Suppose your bank account pays interest monthly with an EAR of 4%.

What interest rate will you earn each month and if your balance

today is $0, how much will you need to save at the end of each month

to accumulate $120,000 in 20 years?

Pull out your calculator or use Excel and give it a try. Good luck!
