Intermediate 1 Accounting
I believe that this was the most important course that I’ve taken so far at Temple University. It was very challenging and most people would consider the Intermediate Accounting courses as a weed out class to determine whether or not you’re fit for accounting. This course required a different way of thinking which I did not prepare myself for when I first took the course. As a result, I received the worst score I’ve ever had on an exam. I’ve actually questioned myself many times during the semester about whether or not accounting is a right fit for me. However, I stayed the course and used the failure to determine my weaknesses in my studying habits. I became an active participant in class and focused more on learning the concepts and seeing the bigger picture rather than solely memorizing journal entries. This ended up helping me greatly and I managed to score the highest grades on the rest of the exams and projects in the class. In the end I was able to bounce back and turned my failure into a success.
Intermediate 2 Accounting
This course was the next step after completing Intermediate 1 and is considered to be even more difficult. Luckily, I was very well prepared and utilized what I learned from Intermediate Accounting 1 to help me succeed in this course. I was a very active participant in the class and focused on learning the concepts and seeing the bigger picture in accounting. Although I was not the top student in the course, I still ended up doing very well and received an A which I’m very proud of.
Big Data
This is a MIS general education course that I’m currently enrolled in. It involves learning about Big Data and how to prepare yourself for it. I really enjoy this course because of my interest in technology. I’m currently learning about how to organize and analyze data and creating data visualizations.
