I learned a lot about the route of incident response in the field of cybersecurity during the 40-minute webinar “From Detection to Recovery of Cyber Attacks: The Incident Response Journey,” delivered by Dr. James Stanger, Chief Technology Evangelist at CompTIA. In order to improve IT workers’ and cybersecurity practitioners’ capacity to successfully mitigate cyber risks, Dr. Stanger underlined the need of incident response. The crucial steps of the incident response process—detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery—were highlighted at the outset of the webinar. Dr. Stanger emphasized the significance of having a clear incident response strategy to successfully complete each step and reduce potential harm from cyberattacks.
