From the Classroom to the Real World

I feel my time at Temple has prepared me well to transition into the real world of business upon graduation. some of the key skills I have developed throughout my time included an ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. One of the classes that helped me develop this skill was Enterprise IT Architecture in, which we flash papers to upper level CEO’s.

PHP and MySQL

In my Data Centric class we’ve learned how to make databases from mySQL interact with a PHP coded website. The knowledge of coding will be useful in my future career as I intend on one day becoming a systems admin for a company.

Here are some pages I’ve created below:

IT Career Fair Fall 2015

Working at this career fair was a great experience and it gave me a great opportunity to network with students as well as possible employers. After I was finished working I was able to walk around and network with the companies in attendance. The event gave me the ability to learn from actual employers and make a few new connections.

My First Website Built in College

I wasn’t sure if I could find it but after searching through my email here it is the first site I built here at Temple. It was made using Dreamweaver. Website building has always been something I have enjoyed.

Please check it out and let me know what you think.

ReminderMedia Internship

I’m beyond excited to post that I am winding down to the last weeks of my internship. My time at ReminderMedia has given me the chance to develop myself as a young business professional.  Some of the things I experienced during that time with ReminderMedia included presentations by both the CEO and CIO. Also during my time I took advantage of the opportunity to explore all aspects of the business, which included a seat ride with Sales, Customer Service, and the IT department.

Check out more about them here : http://remindermedia.com/

AIS Membership Fall 2015

This membership was well worth the money spent. they had over ten meetings with guest speakers form a number of organizations such as EY, and KPMG. This membership helped me fine tune my business professionalism skills, this I believe is the reason I landed my first internship for the Fall of 2015 with ReminderMedia.

One thing that really stands out about AIS is just how nice all the head members are and how open they are to help incoming students just getting interested in the MIS field.
