AIS Community Service
In the Spring of 2016, I was an active member of the Association for Information Systems. Part of being an active member required attending a community service event with fellow AIS members. I signed up to go to Duckrey Middle School, which is only a couple of blocks away from campus. We started by playing with the kids in the school yard, and then went inside and helped them with class assignments and also helped the teachers out. It was a very enjoyable experience not only for me, but also for the kids at the school. I think that AIS did a great job of setting up community service events like this and I believe that these are the kind of things that more and more companies are doing to have a strong Corporate Social Responsibility. I hope that I can work for a company that has these types of events and truly cares about their community.
