One of the brands I was fortunate enough to work for during my college career was Abercrombie & Fitch. It started out as just a way to help pay for rent but soon I realized that this store and primarily the people I worked with encompassed many of the same attributes I did, outgoing, friendly, and all around just people you wanted to work with.
Although the people drew me in and kept me there, being on the sales floor as a “Model” provided plenty of stimulation from the deafening music to the scent of Fierce, the colon, pouring out the ventilation and ultimately customer interaction. Working at Abercrombie & Fitch allowed me to work on my people skills developing them to where I no longer had any fear approaching someone about anything. Dealing with adversity in the workplace taught me how to solve problems, especially if they were out of my control. This experience has been one of the most rewarding throughout my college life.
