United States Marine Corps

Having nearing the end of my high school career, I realized one of my life long ambitions, to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. Although I had formulated plans to attend college, this did not hinder my enlistment, however I decided to serve as a reservist as I went through college.

June 6, 2010 I graduated from from high school, that evening my parents dropped me off at the recruiting station where I was whisked away to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island. Upon graduation three months later on August 27, I traveled with my family all night until returning home around 7am in which I began unpacking then repacking to move into college by noon that same day.

Since then I have spent almost three years in the Corps and still love what I do. My responsibilities changed from the motivated Private who was the first to volunteer for all the crap detail to the motivating Corporal who leads his Fire Team not only with confidence but through example. I have picked up random billets in my time, including ISMT (Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer) and Alternate Gun Team. But throughout all this time I have had the opportunity to give back to the community. Whether it is being present to perform military honors at a Marine passed away to participating in the Toy’s for Tots drive collecting thousands of toys for children during Christmas time, or even pColorGuardarticipating in parades throughout the holidays as the Marine Corps Color Guard. I have been blessed to accomplish all that I have in the limited time allowed as an reservist and am looking forward to what the future holds.
