Student Collaboration Center Intern
- Job function (e.g., overall role, assigned tasks)
- I mainly use Oracle SQL Developer to develop codes to come up with technical solutions. I get requests to write SQL code or pl/sql to retrieve specific data from the database. I also work on migrating a list of codes from SVN to GitLab.
- The Student Collaboration Center promotes collaboration among the community through Information Technology Services and a team of academic, admissions and student financial functional experts. It is located at 951 Carnell Hall (038-15)1803 North Broad Street. I specifically work for the Student Collaboration Center team. The Temple ITS team has about 200 employees. Inside that, there are about 26 employees in SCC.
- Examples of projects (e.g., list the projects you worked on and what you accomplished)
- I get daily tasks that are either migrating lists of codes from SVN to Gitlab, or writing SQL code to retrieve data from the client.
- What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this experience in the context of specific courses)
- Through this internship opportunity, I have learned in-depth knowledge about Oracle SQL Developer. I only knew a little bit about MySQL through MIS 2502, but now I know how to code in Oracle SQL Developer and pl/sql. I feel more comfortable and confident developing codes to retrieve data that clients request.
