First Place Case Competition Entry
In Spring 2018, my team researched and identified scenarios where analytics and automation technologies are complementing human information processing and choices in apparel retail. We then analyzed the advantages of using these technologies for retailers or consumers. We found that Smartphones, RFID, and Smart Mirrors can give brick-and-mortar apparel retailers a competitive advantage in the market, even against online retail. These three technologies complement each other by increasing in-store foot traffic and enhancing customer experience, in turn increasing a store’s sales per square foot. In conclusion we proposed that these three technologies work together to help brick-and-mortar stores enhance their performance. Our case study placed first nationally in The Computational Society Case Competition. Please take a look at our winning entry below!
