IBIT Mentorship Program: Fall 2024-Spring 2025
I was selected to participate in the IBIT Mentorship Program for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters, and I believe it was an invaluable learning experience for me. I had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with two accomplished leaders in the tech industry: Chrish Kearns of Kyndryl in the Fall and Himesh Bhise of Arabella Advisors in the Spring.
Throughout my meetings with each individual, I learned a great deal about the evolving job market, including which skills are in demand and how to best position myself for success in a rapidly changing landscape. Our conversations touched on the increasing importance of interdisciplinary skills, particularly the growing viability of UX design as a career path. These discussions deepened my interest in the intersection between technology and user experience, and I gained valuable insights into how design thinking is shaping the future of digital products and services.
We also explored the potential benefits of pursuing a master’s degree. Both mentors offered thoughtful perspectives on when it makes sense to consider graduate studies and how it can enhance one’s career trajectory, especially in specialized areas like data analytics, product management, and UX design. Their guidance has helped me refine my professional goals and better understand how to align my academic choices with my long-term ambitions.
