IBIT small group meeting with Industry
This fall semester 2018, I had an opportunity to have a sit down lunch with Sayf Sharif, Director of Analytics at Seer Interactive. This meeting was valuable for me because as an MIS professional, I not only need to develop hard skills but soft skills as well. When talking to industry executive like Sayf Sharif, rather than spending all their time talking about hard skills, they offer life and business advice as well. I learned from Sayf to stay hopeful regardless the situation and always try new things regardless the situation. Even though Sayf hit close to rock multiple times, he continued to overcome the obstacles that came his way and refused to give up. Looking at him now, I see the potential that I can achieve if I remain hopeful and press on.
