Distributed reuseable face masks to people AT Walnut Street Philadelphhia

Our aim was to distribute face masks to the public at a food distribution location in Philadelphia’s Walnut Street in order to limit the spread of COVID-19. As of September 2021, over 17,000 cases of COVID-19 infections were reported in Philadelphia, with 816 people dead because of the coronavirus epidemic.

We did everything we could to get masks into the hands of those who needed them in our communities, as we still see far too many people outside in Philadelphia without one.

We learned that while being completely vaccinated is the best approach to avoid major COVID consequences, masks have been shown to minimize the risk of COVID infection in both unvaccinated and vaccinated people. We collaborated with non-profit organizations and private donors to get masks into public’s hands.
