Infrastructure, Architecture and Engineering Intern at UPS

This summer, I had the unique opportunity to work at the technology headquarters for the United Parcel Service in Mahwah, NJ. UPS is a global shipping company responsible for moving over 19 million packages and letters daily, on average. Ranked in the top 50 by Forbes Magazine as America’s top public brands, the experiences I have had and the things I’ve learned would not have been possible anywhere else.

During this internship, I was working under the Product Lifecycle Services group. I was given access to industry leading software, tasked with automating processes done by the group during upgrades and fail overs. In addition, I cleaned up UPS’ source code sandbox environment, which had accumulated over four years of projects. I worked with software from Microsoft and HP, giving me a glimpse into how large companies such as UPS are able to run so effectively. Similarly, the opportunity to work at UPS gave me access to in-house training courses, growing both my technical and professional skill sets.
