Introduction to SQL
On October 22, 2023, I attended the Intro to SQL Zoom information session that was directed by Dr. Vazi Okhandiar and sponsored by NR Computer Learning Center. At the beginning of the information session, Dr. Okhandiar talked about the utility of SQL and its purpose when it comes to creation and management of databases. Dr. Okhandiar then created a database using SQL and followed to show different data manipulation techniques within the database. A big takeaway I had from this lecture was understanding the correct SQL syntax to use when creating a database. Attending an Intro to SQL information session has helped me progress towards my career goals of becoming a data engineer. A data engineer works with different databases – attending this information session gave me greater insight to how relational databases work.
