Field Data Collection and Mobile GIS: Digital Tools for Research in the Field
I attended an online workshop that introduced modern mobile data collection techniques using smartphones and tablets. The session demonstrated how to design and deploy digital surveys using KoBoToolbox and how to use QField, a mobile GIS application that works with QGIS. The workshop also covered best practices for survey design, collecting data offline, using GPS for location tracking, capturing photos and multimedia, and synchronizing data with desktop systems. This session helped me understand how mobile tools can be used for field research, student projects, and community data collection.
